The California Baxters

And now the end of May

For the long Memorial Day weekend the Baxters and Suzie headed to the Bay Area for visits with friends and family. We stopped first at La Purisima Mission outside of Lompoc. This is a beautifully restored mission managed by the State of California. For Suzie this visit brought back many memories of Kim and Chris exploring the same site.

The rest of the weekend included a wonderful dinner with friends Mark and Julia who were instantly charmed by Ella. Then breakfast with cousins Anne, Tony and Chelsea Campodonico in their beautiful home in Ross. Scott did his baby stuff while Ella explored both house and yard.

Next was a reunion with the Cornell gang at Donna's. Here there were kids to play with and more babies to hold so a fun time was had by all and there was certainly never a dull moment.

After a cultural stop for Scott, Sunday was lunch with friends Jane, Kevin and Shep in Palo Alto. Kevin and Jane had flashbacks to the tiny baby stage with Scott and a peek ahead as to where Shep may be going next by watching Ella.
Ella gave Kevin and Shep a preview of things to come including a list of "why" questions.

The weekend finished with a stay at the gaudy Madonna Inn near San Luis Obispo where Suzie had always wanted to to stay. This place is really an experience and a big contrast to our first stop at La Purisima.
After returning home we went to Long Beach to see Pop. This is Suzie's dad — Ella and Scott's great grandfather. He reached 97 in April.
All continues to be well with the Baxters and Scott weighed in at 14 lbs. 7 oz. at his two month check-up

We'd love to hear from you:
